A winning custom.
This is what happens when you give me a Hot Wheels Aristo Rat. See what the original casting went through to end up the winning custom for @customsunderground's "Zero to Hero" build off for January 2019. The original vision was to do a cyberpunk-style, track-spec rat rod and since the body lines were similar to that of a Porsche, I wanted to accentuate those lines to keep the aesthetic and make it look even more aggressive. I have been wanting to customize this casting for months and what better way to do it than for a customs build off.
Before stripping
Tear down begins |
Did not end up this way as you'll see in the later stages.
|
Removed original exhaust pipes to add the LS |
Didn't do it... |
Front end coming together
Top mount radiator |
More bars give it even more aggressive lines |
Something's missing. GT wing? Ducktail? |
Finally, No Other Aristo Rat Like It
|
Vertical LED light bars acting as head/fog lights infused to the front lip and crash bars. |
Went with the ducktail spoiler.
